Make A Difference By Volunteering
Are you ready to sprinkle a little love in your community and help Cake4Kids build the self-esteem of underserved youth?
We have volunteer opportunities across the country, from baking and delivering to community and technical roles to group volunteer sessions — check if we’re in your area: Chapter Locations.

How It Works:
Register to become a volunteer baker
Attend a one-time online volunteer orientation
Sign up to bake and deliver, choosing from our list of youths’ requests
Have fun and go at your own pace! Whether you want to bake once a year or once a month, you choose the cake requests that you are comfortable baking and decorating and that work with your schedule.
Volunteer Requirements:
Must be 18 or older to volunteer independently
Must be 16 or older to volunteer with an adult who is 18 or over as a parent-teen team
If you are 16 or 17 years old, have your parent or guardian complete the volunteer form. Your parent/guardian will be the primary responsible volunteer and the contact person for all Cake4Kids communications
Both you and your parent/guardian must attend new volunteer orientation
Attend a one-time online volunteer orientation session and pass a short orientation quiz
Be a good baker with reasonable decorating skills -- but you don’t need to be a professional by any means! Visit the Cake4Kids Photo Gallery for examples of cakes and treats our volunteers have made
Be able to bake and deliver the cake to Cake4Kids partner agencies during regular business hours, Monday–Friday
Follow the CDC, FDA, and USDA’s food safety guidance from FoodSafety.org: 4 Steps to Food Safety
Volunteer Your Time and Talents
We have ongoing volunteer opportunities in our local chapters and at the national level, for members of the community to help in impactful ways beyond baking.

Volunteer As a Group
We love getting the community involved in our organization! Whether you are part of a corporate team, church group, student group, or a bunch of friends looking to give back, we look forward to finding a volunteer project that works for you.
Cake4Kids was created to provide personalized, custom sweets tailored to individual youth. At this time we are not able to host group baking opportunities.
How will you choose to sprinkle some love in your community?
-
Bake at home or as a team, then sell your sweet treats at the office or in the community and help raise funds for Cake4Kids. It’s a great way to get creative, bake, and spread a little joy with homemade sweet treats.
Cake4Kids will:
Provide promotional templates for you to use
Provide a sample supply list
Provide QR codes for easy bake sale donations through Venmo, PayPal, and credit cards
Volunteer Requirements:
Must confirm that local laws allow bake sales for nonprofits
Must provide all bake sale supplies
Total volunteer time needed: Flexible! Depends on how many people are in your group, the number of sweets you would like to offer, and how long your bake sale runs.
-
Greeting cards are a luxury item for those we serve. Help make the youths’ birthdays more magical by handcrafting one-of-a-kind blank cards, just like those you buy at the store, for caseworkers, caregivers, or parents to write in and give to their youth with their Cake4Kids sweets.
Volunteer Requirements:
Must be 12 or older to participate
Volunteers provide their own craft supplies
Mail or deliver completed cards to your local chapter
Total volunteer time needed: Flexible! Depends on how many cards you would like to make
-
Distribute Cake4Kids posters and flyers to local shops, community centers, and more. It’s the perfect way to get outside with your team, be social, and raise awareness for Cake4Kids.
Volunteer requirements: None
Total volunteer time needed: 1 Hour or more
